Appropriating the collapse: a critical reflection on a research-creation experiment

Abstract: The research-creation workshop “Appropriating collapse”, organized by the association After Social Networks, brought together emerging artists and researchers to confront theories and practices, affects and critical perspectives around collapsology, through a privileged material : user-generated content (UGC) available online. The following text problematizes and develops the discussions and creative works that emerged, asking the following question: How can such a collective research-creation work, immersing itself in the discourses and representations of the collapse, could allow us to resist the feeling of powerlessness?‪
